ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This project is part of the full revamp of the Treasures of the Orient E-commerce website which included re-branding.

From the previous logo, the client and myself agreed to veer away from unnecessary clutter and create a logo that focuses more on what the company represented. Treasures of the Orient is a personal take on an old phrase that describes a certain country where majority of its products would come from -- "Pearl of the Orient". The client wanted a logo that proudly represents the country but is subtle enough not to be too patriotic. This country had 3 major islands, a rich native heritage and gets many of its treasures from the seas around it. The logo chosen by the client represents 3 leaves and 3 pearls that form a crown to represent 3 major islands, the treaures of the seas and a unifying entity to collect and present these treasures.

The logo studies are a mix of different takes on the mentioned design goal -- a visual play on one of the product categories(Christmas Decorations), which represents a mistletoe with 3 pearls (Study 2), a handmade back-lit star or "Parol" used by locals as a Christmas display (Study 3,4 and 5),a sea shell with a pearl(Study 6), and 3 unified pearls(Study 7).
